Mini Reunion - slopeside!

From weekend organizer Craig Pattee:

A small but mighty crew of our classmates are only now recovering from our First Annual Class of '83 Ski Weekend.  Peter Crow, Adam Feiges, Geoff Bennett (and son), Doug Cruikshank, and Hank LeMieux joined Craig Pattee and son Mack in Jackson Hole recently for a few days of skiing and shenanigans.  Conditions weren't great — more reminiscent of the old days skiing at Berkshire East (read: “icy and mediocre”), but the skiing was still excellent — after all, skiing only has a little bit to do with the snow!

All had a blast reconnecting: Hank taught us all about expensive tequila; Adam taught us all about fine ribeyes, Peter brought a urologist and an ER doc with him (always handy), Geoff brought his son (helping reaffirm our faith in the future) and Doug brought his wit (of little value). Great meals were had as well as plenty of laughs. Stories were told. Parenting and marital advice was shared. Putin was psychoanalyzed. Politics was avoided.

So we plan to make this an annual tradition and will move it up a few weeks to find a date that works better for more of our brethren. Stay tuned!

5 Guys walk into a restaurant in Worcester, and Knight moves...

Kudos to Jim Wareck for organizing a multi-state mini reunion!  Centrally located Worcester, MA (the heart of the Commonwealth) served as the meeting point for Eric Suher (W MA), Pete Crow (NH), and Nelse Clark and Will Wolf (Boston) to connect with Jim (New Haven CT) and catch up.  It may take months for the blog to uncover the stories that were shared last night...

Jim says he chose Worcester in honor of John Knight's move back to the east coast from Colorado.  John's wife took a new job in Providence, RI and the family will move to E Greenwich RI in June.  JK says he is grateful for the help of John Cianciolo and Peter Eleftherio in the house hunting and general understanding of all things RI. It's nice to have a network ready, willing and able to help.

At the time of the gathering in Worcester, JK was handing off the reins of the Deerfield Club of the Rockies to Chris Miller '84 and an appropriate dive bar on S Broadway in Denver.

Big day for DA83!

Boston Strong!

So you can probably imagine the conversation that happened in the hallway at the Santander Bank office in Boston a few weeks back.  Bob Fitz is heading to the men's room and Will Wolf is headed to the water fountain.  They bump into each other and finally remember that they work in the same building!  Then they do what 83ers do when in good company, they wonder who else they can include in a gathering.  So they get Townsend and Clark on the line and compare address books for DA 83* and hatch a plan to hang out.  And then it happened!

Kudos to the organizers and the attendees, with special nods to Beaubien and Crow who made the big travel efforts to be present.

Here's the lineup at Ginger Man - Boston:

Front (LtoR): Peter Crow, Bob Fitzpatrick, John Cianciolo, Peter Townsend
Back (LtoR): Will Wolf, Mark Beaubien, Nelse Clark

*As a reminder, remember that DA has a mobile app with most of us in it.  Learn more here.

PS - Hope to see these faces again June 8-10, 2018 at our 35th!

Belated HBD Pete!

Turns out the iPad and Blogger don't get along seamlessly yet - hence the belated birthday wish to Peter Crow for his big day yesterday, May 18...

Send news please. I can only distract myself from the debacle that is the Red Sox season (so far?) with so many episodes of the "real housewives of new jersey"!

News Flash: Crow family visits DA!

Yup, that's Peter Crow and his son Jack flanked by John Knight and Eric Suher (aka the welcoming committee) today, October 6th. Not pictured because she is taking the picture - Pete's wife Sarah. Always a happening when a classmate returns to campus!!!
