It's been a banner week for those of us in RI. Ben Patton and Peter Townsend found themselves in Newport for the Folk Festival and RI native John Cianciolo met them for breakfast on Day 3...Then Doug Schmidt and son, JD, were in Narragansett on their trip to Newport and New Bedford, MA when CC stepped up again and hosted them along with JK.
We look forward to hosting more visiting classmates, just let us know!
During a recent trip to Burlington, Vermont, Doug Schmidt had the chance to catch up with classmate Dave Smith, who is now developing both residential and commercial properties in the greater Burlington area. His two teenage sons are active in lacrosse and may be following in their father’s footsteps toward UVM.
Dave served as Commander of the 158th Fighter Wing of the Vermont Air National Guard (thank you for your service!) and enjoys spending free time and summers with his family on Lake Champlain.

Doug Schmidt met up with Will Piersol in Denver this week in between his own healthcare meetings. "Will is bagging Buffalos out here and helping Coach Prime recruit lacrosse players to an anemic football squad (not!). In actuality, he's keeping up with his wife and two daughters, one of whom is at Northeastern and is CO-OP'ing at Toast to bring a quality experience to all those who are dining out. He's living healthy and learning more about the wellness and longevity space - as we all should be. Definitely look him up if you find yourself out this way."

At a recent DA Reception in NYC, old buddies LtoR: John Kikoski, Whit Armstrong, Jon Gottscho and Doug Schmidt caught up and represented our great class. Jon even wore the Class tie, a true collectors item!
While in Dallas meeting up with a bunch of immunologists recently, I was able to take a break and catch up with Jon Bernstein - it has been 25+ years?! John is the big boss at American Airlines cargo & has traveled the world over the last 28 years with AA and his 3 kids and wife. Super fun to catch up and hear all the stories…! - Doug
The universe is calling… ran into Whit Armstrong and we were able to grab dinner and catch up during quite a torrential downpour on the Upper West Side. When not chasing after his 9 yr old boy, Whit is back spending his days sketching with charcoal and graphite - impressive work if one is looking for art to adorn any walls. We reminisced (and had a few chuckles) about Tim Engelland and Hodo. Good times. - Doug
Doug Schmidt, while waiting in New Haven CT for his crazy good garlic and clams pizza at Pepe's, John Ehmann walked in the door to meet up with some of his friends. Schmidt was only there for 1 hr so it was clearly meant to be. Wonderful to see each other and John's doing great selling plastic polymer film to healthcare companies. Super cool.
While congratulations are in order for John Cianciolo on the occasion of his 60th birthday, it was universally agreed that his daughter Lilly should get all the praise for the SURPRISE 60th she unleashed.
It started with an abbreviated Peleton ride when Bob Keirstead (from Illinois), Will Piersol (from Colorado) and local driver John Knight showed up in his driveway. (CC was overhead later saying, "I'm gonna kill her!")
