DA Class of 1983 E-Newsletter

Dear 83er,
ClASS NOTES: (Ed. Note. This space will no longer carry the bulk of the 1983 Class notes – unless they are unfit for public consumption – then you’ll see them here. Most notes can be viewed on www.DeerfieldAlumni.org, so you should register for the alumni website to read them and post your own.).
Case in point: Johannes “Yogi” Mortier, won the contest for longest trip to play in the Deerfield Alumni Soccer Game! That’s right, Yogi flew over for the weekend from Dusseldorf, Germany and connected with his former coach, Roland Young who came to watch the game. Rollie walked away with a gift too – a soccer ball from the recent World Cup competition in Germany. Nice work Yogi…Kinda makes you wonder why you haven’t been back to DA recently, doesn’t it?

GOING FORWARD it is likely the Class of 1983 page on the www.deerfieldalumni.org site will be the central location of information and announcements – so know how to get there.
Thirty- Three (33) of us have registered on the new site so far – the more who register and “unhide” a bit of contact information – the more robust the DIRECTORY SEARCH feature will be!

Automated registration and password retrieval process.
MyPage feature that can be customized.
Permanent email forwarding.
Ability to create and post class notes and related photos.
The ability to register online for events in addition to Reunion and to display who else is attending.
Use virtually any field in the alumni directory for searches.
Personally select which pieces of information are viewable and which are hidden for your own record.
NEW ADDITION TO THE 1983 Communication channel: Lest you think that this newsletter lacks value when the class notes are elsewhere, a Web Album has been created for the Class of 1983.
